PHOENIX — Electric bicycle and scooter riders in Glendale will soon be impacted by a new ordinance that goes into effect on Thursday.
The Glendale City Council passed the ordinance, which adds minimum age requirements, equipment rules and categorizes different types of e-bikes, in December.
After Thursday, violations of the new rules will lead to fines starting at $50. The costs will go up to $500 if a driver is found to have violated the ordinance three times within a 12-month period.
