The Peoria Unified School District (PUSD) is slated to consider school closures, repurposing and boundary changes soon. According to Chief Communications Officer Danielle Airey, the measures follow the unsuccessful bond override last fall combined with declining enrollment — prompting the district to move to stabilize its financial position for the future.
“We would absolutely want to support every family that is currently calling the Peoria Unified School District home for their child,” Airey said. “If there are opportunities where families want to explore other options, or families that are currently impacted by any of these changes, we want to work alongside them through personalized support to ensure that we’re finding the best place for their child to be successful.
“Every single student in the Peoria Unified School District is important to us and we want to make sure that they have what they need to be the best learner that they can be and set them up for success when they leave us upon graduation.”…
