Records: Suspect told Avondale police taking 2-year-old girl was a ‘mistake’

PHOENIX — The woman accused of taking a 3-year-old girl from an Avondale home and triggering an Amber Alert notification denied being a “serial kidnapper” to police, public records show.

Marina Noriega, 23, was taken into custody Sunday morning after police spotted her at a QuikTrip in Phoenix with a child that had been reported missing by her parents.

The biological parents told Avondale police that their young child had been taken by a “random woman” they had allowed into their residence because she “needed a place to stay,” court records show. Early Saturday morning, the parents awoke to discover Noriega and one of their kids were gone…
