PHOENIX — Three Valley men have been sentenced and financially penalized for their respective roles in a fraud scheme against technological giant Amazon.
Glendale’s Mughith Faisal and brother Basheer Faisal were each given 18 months in prison on Feb. 5 and Feb. 17, respectively, while Surprise’s Abdullah Alwan received six months in prison on Monday. All men pleaded guilty to wire fraud and each were ordered by prosecutors to pay $1.5 million in restitution to Amazon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.
