Sushi is now rolling along a conveyor belt in Goodyear, at the freshly opened Kura Revolving Sushi Bar. The new restaurant, which is the Valley’s fourth location of the international chain, soft-opened on Thursday, March 19. It will celebrate its grand opening this Friday, March 27.
Kura started its journey in Japan in 1977. Over the decades, it has expanded to include more than 550 restaurants in Japan, Taiwan and the United States. The first U.S. restaurant opened in 2008.
At Kura, customers can wait and see which plates of sushi slide past their tables, picking up bites as they go. Specific dishes can also be ordered from the kitchen, which arrive at tables on the secondary Express Belt above the primary sushi belt. These include udon, ramen, side dishes and desserts.
