PHOENIX — A string of vandalism incidents targeting neighborhood book-sharing boxes called little free libraries across the Valley has left residents frustrated and searching for answers, as police investigate a group of teenage girls caught on camera tearing apart the libraries.
Authorities in Peoria said they are working to identify the suspects after surveillance video captured three girls with their faces covered vandalizing the small, community-built structure designed for neighbors to “take a book, leave a book.”
