1,400 still without power after morning outage caused by equipment issue near Grand Rapids

KENT COUNTY, MI – A little more than 1,400 Consumers Energy customers are still without power after a morning outage near Grand Rapids.

Two of three Grand Rapids-area substations that had equipment failures on Monday, May 25, have been repaired restoring energy for most customers in the area, said Trisha Bloembergen, spokesperson for Consumers Energy.

Crews are working to reroute power to customers of the third substation while they complete repairs…
