Man killed in weekend shooting identified by Grand Rapids police

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The man shot and killed in Grand Rapids over the weekend has been identified by police as 32-year-old Angel Rivas.

The shooting happened early Sunday morning in the 1900 block of S Division Avenue. Police arrived at the scene around 1:40 a.m. The man, now identified as Rivas, was taken to a hospital by a private vehicle. He died there a short time later.
