GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Many people enjoying the sunshine in downtown Grand Rapids Thursday afternoon were surprised by the destruction of Ah-Nab-Awen Park.
For years, people have been connecting with nature and water at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in downtown Grand Rapids, which lives up to its translated name of “resting place.” The generations-old sanctuary will be closed for the next two years to make way for a deeper connection between the city and its water as it works to restore the rapids.
