Grand Rapids motorcyclist seriously hurt after attempting to pass semi, crashing into back of it

MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — A Grand Rapids man is seriously hurt after a motorcycle crash on Friday, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP).

In a post on X around 3:30 p.m., MSP said the preliminary investigation showed a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on I-96 near mile marker 78 at a high speed when the rider attempted to pass a semi truck, but instead crashed into the back of it.
