Deputies: Woman pulled from Comstock Park house explosion dies

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Lucy Preston, who was seriously injured after her Comstock Park home exploded earlier this week in a suspected murder-suicide by her husband died Saturday afternoon, according to deputies.

The Kent County Sheriff’s Office confirmed her death to News 8.

Wreckage remains after home exploded in apparent attempted murder-suicide

Lucy Preston was pulled from her home by two neighbors Tuesday morning after a natural gas explosion that is believed to have been intentionally set by her husband, Doug Preston. He is believed to have died in the blast and a positive identification of his body is still pending.

The home, located on Rollaway Drive NE, south of 7 Mile Road NE in Plainfield Township, was destroyed in the explosion at around 4 a.m. Tuesday, prompting 911 calls from around 50 people, ranging from residents that lived next door and miles away…
