GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — A man was shot and killed by an officer with the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD) on Saturday afternoon after he threw a Molotov cocktail at officials, stabbed a K9 multiple times and attempted an armed carjacking and home invasion.
Interim Chief Joe Trigg said around 1 p.m., GRPD responded to the 1000 block of Alpine Avenue NW after they received a call from a person who said they were having issues with a family member who was armed with a knife and threatening to harm the family.
