GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Communities across West Michigan spent the Fourth of July celebrating an historic milestone for the nation.
“It’s the 250th!” Kentwood parade attendee Barry Camp said. “This is the greatest experience in the greatest country in the world.”

Parades filled streets across the region. News 8 had crews at five parades in Caledonia, Cascade, East Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids and Kentwood, each filled with families lining the routes waving flags, cheering on patriotic floats and celebrating alongside their neighbors.
“There’s so much to enjoy here,” Camp said. “We’ve been fortunate and I just can’t express enough how grateful I am that God gave us this wonderful country to live in.”
