GVSU Gets Final Approval for $166M Tech Hub in Grand Rapids

(TNS) — Grand Valley State University can move forward with construction of a $166 million Blue Dot technology hub in downtown Grand Rapids after receiving the state’s sign-off in the 2026-27 budget.

The West Michigan university is still developing a construction timeline, but plans are to break ground by the end of 2026, according to GVSU’s Assistant Vice President of University Communications Chris Knape.
