GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A new kitchen on Grand Rapids’ northeast side will offer a rotating menu of fresh, unique dishes.
Watusi officially opens next month at 1220 College Ave. NE near Carrier Street. Co-owners Sarah Andro and Delie Minnema took over the lease from Mai’s Thai, which is now closed, and got the keys to the building in early June.
Just a few weeks after moving in, Watusi started hosting pop-ups to introduce its food to the neighborhood and get some feedback.
“Just opening our doors, cooking a few things, having people come in, taste them,” Andro said. “And it’s been really awesome. You know, we’ve really got to know people already. We’ve had people that have come every day that we’ve been open.”…
