GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — Employees of The Dungeon Bar & Lounge in Grandville say they were left scrambling when the restaurant closed with no warning.
Outside the door at 3594 Chicago Dr. SW near 28th Street, a sign taped to the wall informs customers that The Dungeon is temporarily closed. The sign indicates it will reopen “soon,” but it’s not clear when that might actually happen.
It’s also unclear if the current workers will again be offered jobs when it does.
“Times right now are really tough, with gas or food or just like things that you need,” Brenna De Young, the now-former general manager of The Dungeon, said. “And the employees that we have, if not all, (some) go paycheck to paycheck. There’s people that are single moms. There’s people that are getting back on their feet and they rely on their paycheck. I think my heart’s just really broken.”
