Grand Rapids to host expungement fair Saturday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of Grand Rapids is holding an event Saturday to help eligible Michigan residents expunge their criminal records.

The city of Grand Rapids’ Office of Oversight and Public Accountability will host its annual Clean Slate GR: Expungement Fair on Aug. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the MLK Community Center. The event will include attorneys and volunteers who can help applicants file for expungement on site for free, a process that is often lengthy and expensive.

“What people can expect is the opportunity to come down and get support that would usually cost thousands of dollars for free.
