Michigan’s White Pine Trail receives $280,000 grant for 22 heritage trail signs

The Michigan History Center has received a $280,000 Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund grant to support the development and installation of Heritage Trail signs along the White Pine Trail State Park.

Heritage Trail coordinator Dan Spegel said the DNR Trust Fund grant is critical for the Heritage Trail Program and will fund 22 interpretive kiosks and signs along the entire 92-mile trail from Comstock to Cadillac.

“Because of this (grant), DNR staff are now able to begin the bidding process for production and installation” Spegel said. “Our goal is to have the kiosks installed in the spring of 2027.”…
