GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — When an Illinois woman went to four Walgreens in metro Grand Rapids to get painkillers, red flags popped up — including a prescription slip written neatly, “which is a rare occurrence,” according to police reports.
The woman, identified as 24-year-old Destiny M. Quinn, was arrested by Kent County sheriff’s deputies following a traffic stop outside of Rockford. She was charged with delivery of a counterfeit prescription form, which is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
“Prescription fraud is one of the many frauds that we see,” Kent County Sheriff-appointee Bryan Muir said. “People will traverse the whole country to come in and to go from city to city to city committing the same acts.”
