ROCKFORD, Mich. (WOOD) — The Rockford Board of Education has voted to censure one of its members after she allegedly sent an email to a district employee that included “offensive, unwelcome and race-based language,” according to the board.
The board met Tuesday morning at a special meeting with a single agenda item of “trustee complaint.” After meeting in closed session for about an hour, board members returned with a resolution to censure Trustee Barbara Helms, which passed unanimously.
According to the resolution, a district employee received an email about a month ago from Helms, “questioning whether the employee had an association with the Muslim Brotherhood.”…
