Voters asked to consider renewing millage supporting county corrections

Among the key ballot issues voters will be asked to consider in November is a proposal to renew a millage supporting county corrections and detention.

The millage was originally approved in 1990 and renewed in 2008. Now, voters are being asked to consider renewing the millage for another 20 years.

If approved, millage dollars would help fund operations, maintenance, equipment, capital improvements and debt service. It would also support planning and potential improvements to the Kent County Correctional Facility’s (KCCF) medical and psychological services…
