GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A boutique hotel is planned within the historic Trust Building in downtown Grand Rapids.
The 63-room hotel — branded as “The Vault” — will take up 4.5 floors of the building at 40 Pearl St. NW near Ottawa Avenue NW. It’s a project from CWD Real Estate Investment, which owns the building, and Houghton-based Braveworks.

On top of the 63 rooms, the plans call for a cocktail bar, a spa, a private gathering space, an event venue and a “fitness and wellness experience,” according to a Thursday release from CWD Real Estate.
The Trust Building was built in 1891 and 1892. At the time, the 10-story building was the second tallest structure in Michigan, according to a National Register of Historic Places nomination form.
