Heavy rain Saturday morning could lead to localized flooding

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Widespread showers are making a return Saturday morning that could wash out weekend plans.

A warm front will gradually lift across the region pulling in widespread showers early Saturday morning. The front will stall out to the south, leaving West Michigan as the target of heavy rainfall.

The Weather Prediction Center has placed counties along and south of I-96 in a slight risk (level 2 of 4) for excessive rainfall. These counties may see spots over 3 inches of rain.

While most of the heavy rain will conclude by late Saturday morning, scattered showers will linger through Sunday morning. Temperatures will be notably cooler this weekend in the mid-60s due to the steady rain and lack of sunshine.
