Chipotle eyes location on Grand Rapids’ northeast side

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Chipotle is eyeing a new restaurant on Grand Rapids’ northeast side, planning records show, though a lease has not yet been signed.

The potential restaurant would be located within The Village at Knapp’s Crossing, a retail strip near the intersection of E. Beltline Avenue NE and Knapp Street NE.

In a request filed Sept. 22 with the city, the owners of the development wrote that as tenants come and go, they “have been presented with the opportunity” to replace a current business with a Chipotle. There’s no signed deal yet. As a condition of leasing the property, Chipotle requires a pickup window for online orders, according to the request.

But the development has been limited to two pickup windows, both of which are currently being used, the application says. The owners are seeking approval to add a third pickup window, which would clear the way for Chipotle to lease the space…
