GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) — A home baker is opening her first storefront inside RiverTown Crossings.

Sweet Kisses Bakery is set to open in November inside the Grandville mall. Owner Michelle Johnson plans to sell a range of cupcakes, mini cakes, brownies, cheesecakes, cookies and muffins, as well as custom birthday cakes. Some of her most popular desserts include cookie butter cheesecake, caramel banana pudding cake and sweet potato caramel cake.
“I am excited to be doing this,” Johnson told News 8 Tuesday in a phone interview. “I feel like this is a way I can give back to the community, the gift that God gives me every day to wake up.”

Johnson is a Lansing native who now lives in West Michigan. As a kid, she said, she used to watch baking shows on TV and copy the recipes.
