Jury picked as man stands trial for double murder in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Nearly three years after two people were gunned down in a Burton Heights neighborhood, a jury trial for the accused killer got underway Monday.

Casey Harmon, 21, is charged with two counts of murder and weapons offenses for the Nov. 6, 2023, double murder.

A jury was seated Monday in Kent County Circuit Court. Opening statements are expected to get underway on Tuesday followed by testimony.

According to court records, Harmon made admissions to associates that linked him to the double-homicide.
