Planned Lowell Township business park could create 3,000 high-paying jobs

LOWELL TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Work is underway to get a 237-acre site in the Lowell area shovel-ready for a new industrial park.

For three decades, municipal leaders have hoped to develop the site at 4687 Alden Nash Ave. near I-96 in the southern part of Lowell Township as part of their master plan. They wanted to bring commercial and industrial businesses to the already-named Covenant Business Park.

But Lowell Township Supervisor Jerry Hale explained the work needed to get the site shovel-ready stood in the way.

“This site has sat here for all that time because of the lack of infrastructure, utilities, sewer and water, mainly,” he said.
