GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Jurors found a man guilty as charged for the shooting death of a young mother outside of an apartment complex near downtown Grand Rapids last summer. Luis Fabian Bernal-Sosa was convicted Wednesday, Feb. 7, of first-degree murder for the killing of 22-year-old Leah Marie Gomez. Bernal-Sosa is scheduled to be sentenced March 27 and faces a mandatory life sentence.
