HOLLAND — After two years of trying, Stacey and Peter Palmberg of Holland finally welcomed their second child on Jan. 25. And their third. And their fourth.
The Palmbergs are proud parents of triplets Marjorie, Magnolia and Flynn, born at Holland Hospital’s Boven Birth Center.
Stacey told The Sentinel they’d been trying for about two years for a sibling for now 3-year-old daughter Freyja. The couple had taken fertility treatments for about six months, and were nearly ready to shift away from them.
“The rule of thumb for fertility treatments is to try for six months. If it doesn’t work by then, it’s probably not going to work,” Stacey said. “I’d been on a concoction of medicines, shots and pills for about six months. The doctors said to try one more time, and if it doesn’t work, try IVF. This was really like the last shot.”
The couple was aware they might have twins, thanks to the treatments. But triplets were a surprise.
“It was very, very shocking,” Stacey said.
Stacey said having two girls and one boy made coming up with names easier — “If it was three boys, one of them probably wouldn’t have had a name,” she joked. They chose names they liked with “some nice meaning” for first names and gave each child a family name for their middle name.
