The Disappearance and Murder of Aundria Bowman

In 1989, the small town of Hamilton, Michigan, was rocked by the mysterious disappearance of Aundria Michelle Bowman, a 14-year-old girl who vanished from her family’s property under troubling circumstances. Born Alexis Miranda Badger in New Orleans, Louisiana, Aundria was adopted at a young age by the Bowman family of Michigan, where she was renamed Aundria.

Trouble began to brew in late 1988 when Aundria expressed fear of returning home from school, raising concerns among school staff. Matters escalated when Aundria accused her adoptive father, Dennis Bowman, of molesting her. Despite her brave disclosure, she was returned home by a social worker, and her allegations were denied by Dennis and his then-wife.

Shortly after this confrontation, the Bowman family relocated to a rural area of Allegan County. It was from this remote location that Aundria disappeared without a trace. Dennis Bowman claimed she had stolen money before running away, and authorities classified her as an “endangered runaway.”
