1 in custody after break-in at Outside Coffee Co

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — One person is in custody after breaking into a Grand Rapids coffee shop Friday night.

Around 11:35 p.m., officers with the Grand Rapids Police Department were sent to Outside Coffee Co. located at 734 Weathly St. SE near Eastern Avenue SE after an alarm went off.

Responding officers said that one person was found carrying a safe and resisted arrest.

According to a post on Outside Coffee Co.’s Facebook page , no one was hurt.

Outside Coffee Co. said it will be opening by 8 a.m. due to the break-in. It normally opens its doors at 7 a.m. on Saturday.

The break-in remains under investigation.
