WAYLAND, Mich. (WOOD) — On his 68th day in the hospital, Wayland Fire Department Chief Jim Stoddard got to go home.
Community members lined the streets Wednesday to escort Stoddard from the hospital, according to a social media post by the fire department.
“At this time we still ask that his and his family’s privacy be respected and for continued prayers and well wishes,” the post read.

Stoddard was hospitalized in April after suffering a cardiac emergency while driving to a wedding in Ottawa County, a friend told News 8 . He was taken to the hospital by Aero Med and had been in there ever since.
