To The Point: 81st House District, Walz visits Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — On this “To The Point,” we’ll take a look at the open 81 st House District seat and a look back at a visit from Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Walz was in Grand Rapids on Thursday night speaking about Vice President Harris and how she believes grocery prices are high because of price gouging.

“She knows that folks are being squeezed on grocery prices, but let’s all be very clear here, you know this in Michigan, I’m a Minnesota guy, been on farms. Framers are getting $3.90 for a bushel of corn and they’re barely $10 for soybeans. They’re not getting rich. Somebody in the middle is taking a cut for not growing the corn, not processing the corn not doing anything. She’s talking about price gouging that’s illegal in 37 states already and should be illegal across the country,” Walz said.

Democrat Steven Wooden and Republican Jordan Youngquist are vying for the open 81 st district House seat and you’ll hear from both of them as well, on this “To The Point” episode for the weekend of Sept. 14.
