KENT COUNTY, MI –Researchers and engineers at Michigan State are turning to technology to help solve the rising production costs of apple harvesting in Michigan. Apples are big for Michigan growers, the state was the second largest producer of apples in the U.S. in 2022 and 2023. According to the USDA, Michigan produced a record high apple crop in 2022, hauling in 1.36 billion pounds.
