GRPD: 16-year-old charged with attempted murder in shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Police say a 16-year-old has been charged with attempted murder in a Grand Rapids shooting that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition.

Cartiyae Pascal is facing assault with intent to murder and felony weapons charges, according to a release from the Grand Rapids Police Department. Police say he was charged as an adult.

The shooting, which was not deadly, happened Sept. 1, the release says. Around 6 p.m. that day, officers were sent to the 1700 block of Madison Avenue SE near Dickinson Street SE for a reported shooting, but they didn’t find any victims on scene, according to GRPD.

Not long after, police say an adult man showed up at the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds in critical condition.

Pascal was arraigned Tuesday and bond was set at $300,000.
