‘Happily Ever After’: Here’s the full schedule for Zeeland’s Pumpkinfest

ZEELAND — Horse-drawn carriages, doughnuts and cider are on the docket for Pumpkinfest, which returns to Zeeland this weekend.

The annual fall festival runs Thursday-Saturday, Oct. 3-5, according to a press release from Zeeland Festivals. This year’s theme is “Happily Ever After.”

From 5-7 p.m. Thursday, the first 1,000 attendees will receive free doughnuts and cider. All can participate in horse-drawn carriage rides and surprise character appearances. Attendees can also interact with local authors at the Howard Miller Library, according to the release.

Zeeland is already prepping for excitement with the Avenue of Art on Main Street, which showcases large wooden structures themed to the festival. Tripelroot will host an escorted tour at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, for visitors to meet the artists behind the works.

A magical experience awaits children at KIDZFEST on Church Street both Friday and Saturday, with face painting, a petting zoo, inflatable obstacle courses and more. For all ages, there’ll be food vendors, barrel train rides, stage performances and live music. A laser light show is scheduled for dusk Friday.
