Bernie Sanders to campaign in Grand Rapids on Sunday

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-VT, will be speaking at a “grassroots event” on Sunday in Grand Rapids to discuss what is at stake in the November election, according to ONECampaign for Michigan .

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rosa Parks Circle, located at 135 Monroe Center St NW .

His visit comes days after Vice President and presidential nominee Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump and Vice presidential nominee U.S. Sen. JD Vance campaigned in Michigan.

Michigan is a vital state on the path to the White House. A poll conducted by Emerson College Polling, The Hill and WOOD TV8 released last week indicated a tight race in Michigan: 49% of those surveyed said they would vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and 47% said they would vote for former President Donald Trump. With the poll’s margin of error at plus or minus 3.2%, that’s a statistical dead heat.
