Deputies: Passenger pinned in car after crash west of Allendale

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a passenger was flown to the hospital after a crash west of Allendale Friday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of 120th Avenue and Lake Michigan Drive in Robinson Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. Two cars were involved.

Deputies say a 2015 Ford Fusion was turning west on Lake Michigan Drive from northbound 120th Avenue. The Fusion was hit by a southbound 2013 Ford F-150 that was towing a utility trailer, according to the sheriff’s office.

The passenger of the Fusion was pinned in the vehicle and had to be rescued. Then, he was flown by Aero Med to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, authorities say. The sheriff’s office did not release the passenger’s age or city of residence.

Deputies say the driver of the Fusion, identified as a 20-year-old Florida man, was treated on scene for minor injuries, while the 25-year-old Coopersville man who was driving the F-150 was not hurt.
