GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A furniture and appliance store with multiple locations in West Michigan is going out of business.
All American Freight locations are set to close after its parent company filed for bankruptcy. The brand had struggled due to inflation and economic challenges, according to a release from parent company Franchise Group, Inc.
American Freight has more than 370 locations across the U.S., including 15 in Michigan. In West Michigan, it has stores in Battle Creek, Grand Rapids and Muskegon, along with two locations in Portage.
Closures began on Nov. 5. Its website advertises a going out of business sale.
Franchise Group’s other brands include Pet Supplies Plus and The Vitamin Shoppe, which both have locations in West Michigan. Those are expected to stay open as the company entered a restructuring support agreement to handle its debt.
