Woodland Mall slammed with last-minute shoppers

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — As Christmas nears, shoppers in West Michigan raced to purchase last-minute gifts.

Local small businesses try to draw holiday shoppers away from online stores

If you didn’t complete your Christmas shopping before Tuesday, you’re not the only one.

“I had to wait for my brother to get back to town because we like to go shopping together and I don’t have any gifts for anyone yet,” Luke Whitsell, a shopper at Woodland Mall, told News 8.

The holiday hustle and bustle was in full effect at Woodland Mall on Tuesday with crowds of shoppers looking to make this holiday season special.

What you can and can’t recycle this holiday

“I’m a big procrastinator and I’m visiting Michigan to visit my family from New York. So I couldn’t bring all my presents with me, so I’m taking my little sister out,” shopper Hannah Russo said.

Leaders with Woodland Mall say the holiday rush started on Black Friday and has continued into Christmas Eve, which is one of the busiest days of the year.
