GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — On New Year’s Day, the work of a Grand Rapids area florist was included amid several flower-covered floats that traveled down a Pasadena, California street for the annual Rose Parade.
Holly Haveman with Kennedy’s Flower Shop , located at 4665 Cascade Rd. in Grand Rapids Township, was invited to work on the OneLegacy float. She said she was ecstatic to participate because she had wanted to work on florals for the parade for many years.
Haveman has worked in the floral industry for a while, first in Singapore and Australia before moving back to the United States and joining the family business at Kennedy’s in 2017. Now a part owner and brand manager at Kennedy’s — a full-service florist and gift shop that offers services like grab-and-go arrangements, refillable vases and decorating services — Haveman said working as a florist at the Rose Parade has always been on her ‘floral bucket list.’
