GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Grand Rapids’ Happy cat Cafe offers a place for foster kitties and prospective cat owners to meet. The cafe works with a local rescue, Fig and Friends, and houses cats at the cafe until someone comes along to sip a cup of coffee and pick up a new furry friend.
On Tuesday though, Happy Cat Cafe owner Kati Quarto said they had to take on a job the cafe just isn’t equipped to do when someone opened the cafe door and tossed a cat inside just before noon.
“Someone just walked up to our door and just threw a cat inside,” said Quarto. “We had cats dumped before unfortunately. They’ve left them in carriers or left them in a box outside of the cafe, but this is the first time someone had ever just opened a door and threw a cat in the door.”…
