Broken windows, graffiti: Code violations slapped on century-old Grand Rapids building

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The owner of the vacant, century-old Keeler Building on North Division Avenue in downtown Grand Rapids has been slapped by the city with code violations for cracked tiles, damaged bricks, broken windows and graffiti.

The violations landed on the city’s radar after a complaint was filed Feb. 12, and a subsequent inspection a month later confirmed the violations were still present and had not been fixed by the owner, city spokesperson David Green said in an email.
