KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — The death of a woman in a storage unit was a “tragic accident,” but not a crime, according to a judge who dismissed charges against the woman who locked her inside.
Morgan Wingeier , 32, wiped away tears as the judge on Thursday dismissed the charges of involuntary manslaughter and unlawful imprisonment in the death of Corinne Abosamra, 33. Wingeier could have faced up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Abosamra’s parents sat in the back of the courtroom as the judge issued the ruling. Her father Bruce Ghastin said he was shocked by the decision.
