Part of the Upper Peninsula and northern Lower Peninsula could see significant icing Friday night and Saturday, the National Weather Service said, as a winter storm brings freezing rain and sleet to Michigan.
Northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula are under a winter storm watch ahead of a system expected to reach Michigan Friday afternoon and last through Saturday morning.
In addition, Lake Michigan is under a hazardous weather outlook, portions of Lake Superior are under a Gale warning and there is a small craft advisory out along the shores of Lake Superior and Lake Huron.
