Michigan Winter Storm: Up to 2 Inches of Snow and 0.2 Inches of Ice Expected by Noon Wednesday

Grand Rapids, MI – A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of central and west-central Michigan this morning. From 2 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, the area will experience mixed precipitation, including up to 3 inches of snow and ice accumulations of up to 0.2 inches. Winds will gust up to 35 mph.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, the storm could impact morning commutes, causing slippery road conditions, particularly on elevated surfaces. Drivers are urged to slow down and exercise caution, especially in the cities of Clare, Reed City, Ludington, and Mount Pleasant.

In southeastern Michigan, including the Tri-Cities and the northern Thumb, a similar advisory is in effect from 2 a.m. to 10 a.m. Snow accumulations of up to 2 inches are expected, with ice buildup of up to a tenth of an inch.
