Protesters across Michigan rally against SAVE Act

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Demonstrators are rallying outside the offices of Michigan congressmen to protest the SAVE Act bill.

The House of Representatives passed the SAVE Act earlier this week. This bill would require those wanting to vote to prove they are U.S. citizens by showing a passport or birth certificate.

The Michigan Secretary of State says that 15 people who were not citizens cast a ballot in the 2024 general election. Supporters of the bill say it would put a stop to this type of voter fraud.

Critics of the bill say it would make it harder for Americans to vote because they may not be able to afford a passport or have access to their birth certificate…
