With all the “madness” going on with college basketball, Penguin International hosts its own fun contest this time of year. People are encouraged to vote for their favorite penguins as a way to celebrate the animals, inspire learning, and encourage conservation.
There are actually two competition’s running side-by-side: In the Peng-Win Championship individual penguins are going up against each other. They’ve been nominated by zookeepers, those who work at aquariums, and museum staff. They serve as ambassadors to help raise awareness for penguins in the wild.
The Species Spirit Awards lets people vote for their favorite kind of penguin. So even if your individual pick gets knocked out, your favorite species might still win…
