Citing rising living costs, Grand Rapids offers kids free pool passes

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The city of Grand Rapids is offering a chance for kids to use its pools for free this summer.

Through the Outdoor Pool Season Pass program, Grand Rapids residents ages 17 and under can get a free pool pass now until June 6. Starting June 6, they can get a pass for $5, the Grand Rapids Department of Parks and Recreation said in a Thursday release.

To register for a pass, a parent or guardian 18 years or older should go to grparks.info/2025poolpass . Before pool opening day, the passes will be available for pickup at 245 State St. near Washington Avenue. After, it can be picked up at the pools…
