GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Voters in Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon counties will decide operating millage requests on May 6 that support day-to-day operations for students at a host of school districts across the region.
To receive their full funding from the state for all students, school districts must levy 18 mills on non-homestead property. If approved, the millages would not apply to primary residences, rather non-homestead property like vacation homes, businesses and commercial property.
